Arthur Miller's insightful comedy about friendship
In this compelling one-act play, two old friends trade light-hearted banter and stinging exchanges to express their conflicting views of "life's truths". At the same time, they reveal to us their enduring mutual affection and the importance of companionship as the shadow of mortality lengthens. Leonora, a widow, and Leo, her long-time friend, meet daily for dinner and conversation. She sees the world becoming increasingly vile, and questions the value of her own existence. Leo, the eternal pragmatist, faces life as it is, accepts the reality of growing older, and yet refuses to relinquish his hope for the future.
