Farm City Fundraiser
Farm City Fundraiser provides support for urban farmers and artists involved in launching FarmCity.US, an action-research project enhancing the profile and prospects of sustainable food production within the City.
Grow Local Food Revolution!
Novella Carpenter, author of the acclaimed memoir, Farm City: An Education of an Urban Farmer, will be reading and signing books.
Communal Table will present "Turnip Fest," a variety of treats made from the versatile veggie sourced from Kings County farms.
Book Court will provide a selection of Food Bookstore with specially selected titles.
Live alt-country music hoedown -- selected by JD Duarte of BrooklynCounty.com and The Newton Gang -- will follow the readings. More details to come!
Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door and can be obtained at BrownPaperBagTickets.com.
Libations courtesy of Brooklyn Brewery featuring their elegant Belgian-style craft ales: Brooklyn-Schneider Hopfen Weisse, Brooklyn Local 1, and Brooklyn Local 2.
Doors open at 7:00 pm and music keeps rolling until late. . .
