A Culture of Philanthropy: What it is, why it matters, and why we should care?
Rebecca Davis will help us take a look at the cultures of philanthropy within the organizations we currently serve and offer us tips and advice for creating healthier cultures of philanthropy in places where such a culture does not already exist. This workshop is a don't miss for anyone who works in an organization in which fundraising is viewed as a one-person or one-department responsibility or someone who is constantly debating whether or not they are asking too often. Find out why 25% of all Development Directors will be fired and why half of all Development Directors-at any given time-are thinking about quitting and what you can do to make your work happier and more successful. Rebecca H. Davis, PhD, CFRE has more than twenty-five years of professional experience in academic and non-profit settings in fundraising, event management, volunteer coordination, adult education, research, and writing. A graduate of the AFP Faculty Training Academy, Rebecca is a Master Trainer who has been a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) since 2007. Her fundraising experience includes working for several organizations, among them the Alzheimer's Association-SC Chapter, the National Down Syndrome Congress, the Children's Center for Hope & Healing, the Center for Developmental Services, and Pendleton Place. She has a long track-record of fundraising success, increasing sponsorship dollars by 188% at the Alzheimer's Association and by 126% at the Children's Center for Hope & Healing. In one year at the National Down Syndrome Congress, she increased the Peer-to-Peer fundraising results 1,154% the Banquet "Ask Event" results by 7,882%. Rebecca spends her time divided between North Georgia and Upstate South Carolina. She is the Principal and Founder of Davis Nonprofit Consulting and is working with nonprofits all across the country.
