Playback Theater presents: Stories of the One That Got Away 7:30pm, May 16th
Do you still carry that ache in your heart, remembering and longing for that one that got away? Do you lie awake in bed at night, dreaming of opportunities missed?
The One Who Got Away explores this theme by inviting audience members to share their stories of opportunities lost, be they romantic, personal, professional or otherwise.
"As we grow, our hearts and minds grow and expand by those we have met and things we have experienced,"
says Jackie Paris, Director of the Portland Playback Theater Troupe.
"Sometimes that vulnerability can bring confusion and a deep longing for those experiences that have touched us most deeply. An adventure you held in your mind but never embarked upon. A summertime crush whose phone number you never got. At our show, we invite you to share those things that got away from you. We hold your story sacred and with respect, reverence and good humor, we will enact your story back to you and in the process hopefully reveal to you something about your own experience. So share with us about those romances gone wrong, or right but for a brief moment. Intrigue us! Surprise us! Playback Theater is all about YOUR story."
Come join the community and explore this topic with artistry, trust, play and respect. Let's see what can be created together! Let's watch!
