CHRISTMAS MIRACLE ON MAIN STREET: A SMALL TOWN RADIO PLAY
It's Christmas Eve in America's heartland and radio host Bjorn Gundlarrsen is preparing for the live, telethon performance, MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET, that will keep the tiny polka station afloat. Unfortunately, the prize troupe of off-Broadway actors he's hired have all fallen ill due to a dastardly combination of indigestible pork rinds and lutefisk! With time running out, Bjorn enlists the reluctant small crew at the station to perform all the roles. Can the show be saved in time? After all, it's not like Christmas is known for miracles....
This December, Waypoint Theatre Company will re-create the classic Christmas broadcast live on Atria's Academy Hall Theatre stage in this laugh out loud play within-a-play that includes sinfully rich desserts and drinks served family style!
Complete with Foley sound effects and cleverly scripted commercials, Waypoint will transform the theatre into a small polka radio station in northern Minnesota and invite the audience to become part of the magic. The timeless story of the man who calls himself Kris Kringle, and his unusual determination to spread Christmas spirit with the universal theme of hope in times of uncertainty, makes this dessert theatre one not to be missed!
Limited tables of eight, family style desserts include decorated sugar cookies, fudge, mixed nuts, coffee (reg and decaf) or tea (chocolate milk available for kids by request).
Live, pre-show holiday vocal favorites, custom singing telegrams celebrating birthdays, anniversaries or "I love you", and audience sing-alongs make for a fun Christmas group or family event! Raffles for a $50 Macy's gift certificate each night (Thu- Sun) and Vacation Get-Away!
