Harp Workshops

The harp playing workshops will be led by our concert artists in the afternoon on Saturday, October 16, 2010. Registration begins at 2:00 p.m. at OCUUC. Please bring your instrument.

Each harpist is giving 2 workshops. Attendees will be able to choose one from Session A and one from Session B.

Session A (2:30 - 3:45pm), please choose one of the following workshops:

Verlene Schermer - Cool Chords
Ellie Choate - Good Time: Practice techniques for solid rhythm
Julio Montero - Latin Harp 101

Session B (4:00 - 5:15pm), please choose one of the following workshops:

Verlene Schermer - Groovy Rhythms
Ellie Choate - Beyond Pachelbel: A review of out-of-the-box solo harp music
Julio Montero - Tango & Other Latin American Dance Rhythms and Forms

The schedule for that day will be:

2:00 registration
2:30-3:45 workshops
3:45-4:00 break
4:00-5:15 workshops
5:30 meal break
7:30 concert

$35 for two workshops in the afternoon
$20 for concert
$50 for both concert and workshops

This listing allows you to purchase your workshop ticket in advance using a credit card (modest fees will apply).

Be sure to include your name, phone number, email address, and the workshops you'd like to attend.

You may register in person the day of the event when you pay with cash.

Event location: 1259 Victoria Street, Costa Mesa, CA 92627. Attendees must be at least 13 years old. Please contact Barbara Schilling with questions.
