SEPTEMBER Market Ghost Tour
Every day at 5:00 and 7:00pm and additional 9:00pm tours on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. 8:00 pm tours on Friday and Saturday have also been added - must be over 18 for those. Tours do sell out. The office is located in Post Alley, at 1410 Post Alley, South of the Gum Wall. A reservation or advance ticket purchase is required. Bring your receipt of purchase to the tour.

The Market Ghost Tours are 60-75 minute walking tours through the Pike Place Market based on the stories of hauntings in the community and the history of Seattle. In the district is Seattle's first mortuary, the remnants of a graveyard, and an old brothel that still has a red glow cast on it's side.

Each story on the tour has been given a thorough vetting, and the owner of the tour has done countless hours of historical research about the experiences in the Market. Seattle is not unique in its many stories of ghosts. Every city has its share of stories. Seattle is unique however, it went through major renovation for 30 years after the Great fire in 1889. Some believe that it is the movement of earth, structures and graves that create Seattle's many stories.

The Market Ghost Tour received the title: #2 Ghost Tour in the US by Trip Advisor in 2009. The tour had record attendance the same year, thanks in part to mention by CNN online, The Chicago Tribune, and coverage by local media in the Northwest. The ghost hunter and the historian can both enjoy this tour and learn a bit about Seattle's eccentric history.

If you are especially interested in phenomena on film, the earlier tours are better. Please come prepared for the weather, in comfortable shoes, and bring your cameras. We understand that people may be out for the night and enjoying themselves but, for the benefit of the group and for safety, patrons must not attend the tour while intoxicated. All children must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.

"Terrific fun. Whether you're a local who wants something entertaining to do at night, or if you have an out-of-town guest visiting, it's a fun and educational tour. I learned a lot about Pike Place and areas of downtown & Pioneer Square. And it's not boring history, it's all very entertaining (brothels, murderers, etc). I would do this tour multiple times. I definitely would like to do it as the sun goes down earlier in the fall, so that it's night time during the tour." - yelp.com review
