2010 IPM Workshop for Landscape Professionals - held at Seattle University
Customers and the public are asking for reduced pesticide use and, in many cases, pesticide-free maintenance of trees, yards, and grounds. Research on natural turf and athletic field management has advanced. The Green Gardening Program offers this workshop to help landscapers meet the challenge of sustainable landscapes. The workshop includes presentations and practical knowledge from industry experts and peers.
Topics include:
– How Seattle University has managed its turf without pesticides for more than a decade. Seed selection, fertilization, irrigation, compost tea and other organic amendments, and installation of a new athletic field.
– Methods to professionally transition lawns from chemical dependence to sustainable maintenance.
Registration includes continental breakfast and a snack.
