Beauty's Daughter presented by UPROOTED theatre and Tony Horne/The Mosiac Group
After two successful runs in Milwaukee, UPROOTED co-founder Marti Gobel brings Dael Orlandermnith's "Beauty's Daughter" to Memphis' Evergreen Theatre. UPROOTED company member Marti Gobel reprises her starring role in Orlandersmith's one woman show. The play chronicles the main character, Diane,'s escape from Harlem via her poetry. Orlandersmith uses spoken word and expertly crafted characters to tell the tale. Come watch Ms. Gobel portray Diane and the five main people that affect her life.
