A Pre-High Holy Day Walk Through the Four Worlds
Join us as we travel through the Four Worlds and engage in a process to eliminate the Klippot that inhibit and obstruct our spiritual growth to prepare ourselves for living life of divine inspiration. To do so we will consider the concept of _Vayikra_ in the first world, the World of Action. God asked Adam "Ayecha? (Where are you?)" not because he didn't know where Adam was but because the Divine wanted Adam to know where he was, what his values were. We will look at what is important in our lives and pick one area in which to cultivate a higher expression of our innate Godliness.

Via the Second World of Emotion, Feelings, Reaction, we will identify areas of negativity and automatic responses to emotional triggers for an individualized spiritual accounting. Our goal is to eliminate "hardheartedness" to develop compassion and equanimity.

In the Third World of Thought, we will examine old beliefs and misguided thinking in the context of Ego and discover how thoughts impact feelings which impact actions. Clarity of mind is our goal.

Finally, in The Fourth World of Spirit, we will do a spiritual assessment to determine where we are in our relationship to Divinity. We will focus on developing a dialogue with God, and learning skills which enable us to live more fully in God consciousness. Each section will involve a mediation, an exercise and a Yoga pose.

About the teacher: Shulamit Sofia, MSW, a spiritual pilgrim from birth, has journeyed toward soul strength as her life's purpose. A serious spiritual seeker for nearly three decades, she has studied with Rabbis Zalman Schacter-Shalomi, Lawrence Kushner, David Cooper, Alan Lew, Stephen Fisdel, Miles Krassen, and Estelle Frankel. She has had a long career as a social worker, college professor, founder of two nonprofit agencies, seminar leader, international speaker, and writer. She uses psycho-spiritual growth principles with people of all ages to demonstrate ways of expanding one's sense of well-being and better understand how to meet one's circumstances with grace and equanimity. She has also written two manuals for parents, "How to Raise a Non-Violent Child" and "Parent Preparation Manual: Parenting in Difficult times". In addition Shulamit Sofia wrote two art therapy books for children "Color Your Feelings" as well as "Psalms For a Sunny Day" a pamphlet of comforting psalms for times of crisis. Her website is soulstrengthseminars.com.
