FREE Exploration of Newtown Creek Tour- Round trip from Governors Island
Join us for City of Water Day's newest tour on Newtown Creek, an estuary that divides the Boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens for a distance of four miles, emptying into the East River. The Creek was once known as one of the "busiest waterways of its size in the world" and is now one of the most polluted waterways in the country.
You will charter up and into the Creek aboard New York Water Taxi and hear about the creek's history, work by environmental advocates to raise awareness to clean the creek, and Newtown Creek's future.
