FREE Hidden Harbor Tour on NY Waterway - Round Trip from Liberty State Park
This is a round trip tour from the north end at Liberty State Park.
Explore the New York Harbor you have never seen before and cannot see except by boat. You will be witness to the part of our harbor that holds and fosters the economic engines that drive more than a quarter of our regional economy.
The New York/New Jersey Port has the highest container traffic on the east coast. In 2008, the dollar value of all cargo that moved through the port exceeded $190 billion, a new record!
On this tour narrated by the Working Harbor Committee, you will be a witness to the part of our harbor that holds and fosters the economic engines that drive more than a quarter of our regional economy.
We depart Liberty State Park on NY Waterway and go south in Buttermilk Channel between Brooklyn & Governors Island, passing Atlantic Basin and the new cruise ship terminal, New York home port of Queen Mary 2. From there we visit other historic harbor destinations including Erie Basin, Upper New York Harbor, the entrance to the Kill Van Kull, the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Navy Yard, and Brooklyn Bridge Park.
