DePauw University Choirs (March Concert)
Inspired by the musical traditions of North and South America and the Caribbean islands in between, this a cappella program includes folkloric tunes and traditions, music for the entertainment industry, art music for the concert stage and a variety of American hybrids of these influences: Negro Spiritual, Russian-Jewish melody cum Tin-Pan-Alley, Afro-Latin dance beats, Appalachian mountain tune, Atlantic Sea Shanty, shape-note and Shaker hymnody, Latin motet and more.
