Balkan Singing Techniques with Michele Simon - 5 week series
These workshops will offer fascinating, diverse, and fun perspectives on Balkan folk singing.
Michele Simon has been involved with Balkan music for over 30 years as a singer, dancer, drummer and teacher. She has performed with many groups, including Kitka, Anoush, Zabava! Izvorno, Orkestar Sali and currently with Brass Menazeri and The Helladelics. She has studied with native singers in Bulgaria, where she also appeared on national television. Michele's teaching focuses on integrating Balkan styles with American voices, through the use of innovative exercises and imagery.
