Romantasy Cabaret - 08/28/10
Romantasy Cabaret presents another entertaining show on August 28th, 2010 in Tempe. Come aboard the Queen Lucy and set sail for a three hour tour around the world with Romantasy Cabaret, a local variety ensemble whose theme is naughty nautical in their fourth successful season. Romantasy Cabaret's "Ports O' Call" blends humor and comedy, song and dance, feats and tricks with the sensual tease of classic burlesque.
ROMANTASY CABARET'S Ports O' Call, Lucy's Birthday Booze Cruise sets sail for another tour 'round the world on Saturday, August 28th , 2010 at Club Red located in Tempe at 2155 East University Drive. The doors open at 7:30 pm and the three-act show sets sail at 8:30pm.
Since 2007, the event's director Lucy Morals has combined an ever-changing line up of singers, dancers, circus folk and carnies with her vintage approach to modern variety. The first two acts of the show typically offer a range of entertaining scenes and spoofs with act three presenting burlesque beauties who tease audiences right up to the show's sweet ending.
The 2010 season, with its "naughty-nautical, around the world" theme, encourages even audience members to participate by donning travel gear, resort wear or typical dress from their own favorite exotic destination. Many fans even dress to the nines in hopes of getting to meet with the Captain.
Those who arrive in costume receive free raffle tickets for chances to win prize bags stuffed with gifts from local merchants as well as fabulous glamour trinkets for the ladies.
Romantasy Cabaret boasts a cast and crew of about forty of Phoenix's most flamboyant, naughty, funny and beautiful performers. Fans may witness a real-live bullwhip act set to snap everyone to attention. The show has been known to offer exotic harem girls for your gawking pleasures as well as presents gorgeous Geisha girls, saucy Senoritas, and a mysterious mind reader. Why, there's even been a harrowing pirate takeover! A batch of new faces and skits come aboard to join favorite returning acts this season. On this particular cruise, fans, cast, and crew help director, Mizz Lucy Morals celebrate her birthday in an evening that includes party favors and party favorites!
While the nightclub doesn't have a menu available, attendees can nosh on various dogs and wieners for sale by Djhotdogs just outside the club's entrance. Pizza can also be ordered from a nearby delivery service (menus available at our hostess stand).
Topping it all off, show-goers will also be treated to an after party when cast and crew mingle with audience members for a meet and greet, photos with cast members, fun and dancing.
Ms. Morals urges advance purchase of tickets if patrons hope for a seat for the 3-hour plus show. Front row VIP and VIP Reserved seats sell out quickly. General Admission tickets are usually available through the night of the show.
