Up Late Video Sketch Writing Class
Have you ever wanted to write for a comedy show or produce a sketch video? This 8-week course taught by the writers and producers of STL Up Late will teach students how to pitch an idea, write sketch comedy scripts, rewrite as part of a team, and direct the sketch for video.
Students will be put in an environment that mimics writing for a show like Saturday Night Live in which the writing starts as an individual process and ends as a collaborative one. At the end of the 8-week course, the group will produce 3 original comedy sketches that will be screened for friends and family. Students will also walk away with a writing credit for the sketch that they wrote and directed. The class size is limited to 12 people in order to give a tailored, hands-on approach.
The class will be taught by Eric Christensen, Joshua McNew and Lauren Vemuri. Classes will be held on Sundays from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. at Nebula Coworking (3407 S Jefferson Ave, St. Louis, MO 63118).
