The Tragedy of Lear
The Tragedy Of Lear, directed by CPTC Artistic Director Gwen Kelly-Masterton, will star Elizabeth Kelly (CPTC's The Dark is Light Enough, As You Like It) as Queen Lear in an exploration of the emotional toll of politics and the political impact of emotions. It's a story of children and parents: three brothers who can't agree on how to care for their increasingly confused and irascible mother (and her kingdom) as she descends into dementia; and two sisters, one the embarrassing result of a teen pregnancy and the other the adored child of a legal marriage, locked in a lifelong battle for their inheritance and their mother's love.
