"Prin" the brilliant bitingly witty eccentric heroine of Andrew Davies distinctly British comedy is principal of a teachers' college in England. "Prin" fights with every fiber of her being against mediocrity in public education and in the world at large extolling her students to be extraordinary. However, her academic haven is falling apart: administrative bureaucrats plan to merge the school with the local Polytechnic, giving her a faculty chair but no authority; one of her students has seduced an English teacher and her lover, a shy, quiet woman wants to marry the science teacher. While "Prin" lords it over one and all, one and all are making plans to be free from her.
