What is our responsibility for the lives and souls of others? Is it our task to save those who do not want salvation? In The Sunset Limited, Cormac McCarthy, award winning author of The Road, All the Pretty Horses and No Country for Old Men, explores religion through the dynamic lens of American race relations.
Directed by Tim Samland and starring local actors Aaron Bredlau (White) and Jack House (Black), the play begins immediately after Black rescues White from jumping in front of the titular train. Their conversation ranges far and wide, though they never leave Black's cramped apartment. Sunset Limited questions what it means to have faith- in yourself, in a higher power, in humanity.
