Rob Brezsny's "Sacred Uproar"
The Marsh presents Rob Brezsny's "Sacred Uproar," in which Rob leads the congregation through a rowdy revival show that features raucous prayers, Dionysian sermons, chaotic meditations, tender rants, and praise songs. With a subversive mix of generous humor and crazy wisdom, he invokes a mood of sacred uproar. In his "I Have a Dream" speech, he proclaims, "I have a dream that the 11th commandment will be 'Thou Shalt Not Bore God.'" "World Kiss" demonstrates the unruly value of kissing all of creation, and "Unhappy Hour" is a ritual designed to banish sadness from leaking all over the place by celebrating a brief, intense orgy of wailing.
