Percy, a young woman just released from prison and all alone in the world, takes a chance and jumps on a bus headed for Wisconsin. She is looking for the peace and quiet of the autumn woods. Instead, she finds a job at the Spitfire Grill in a small town where secrets are revealed and unlikely friendships are made. This poignant look at small town life touched hearts and offered hope when the Playwright Horizons premier opened shortly after the events of Sept. 11, 2001. A real musical journey to the heart.
