FUNdraising Parties for The Love Burn
The Love Burn, Inc. will be hosting a fabulous evening with a Burning Man documentary movie shown outside at Miami Beach Botanical Garden on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 6-11pm.
MOVIE FUNDRAISER: The open-air screening will feature the stunning documentary about the history and principles of Burning Man called "Beyond Black Rock City." There will be Live Performances, DJs, Art, and great music.
The gardens are located at 2000 Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, FL 33139. The suggested minimum donation for this event is $20.00.
Every dollar raised will be used to bring large scale art to Miami, create community art projects and allow the creation of more elaborate, more interactive, and more awe-inspiring sculptures, fire art, music and interactive pieces.
AFTER PARTY: After the film, there will be a continuing event featuring DJs and art starting at 11:00pm at Do Not Sit on the Furniture at 423 16th St, Miami Beach. The fundraising night will be open to the public.
MISSION: Central to the Love Burn organization and their events are the principles of Burning Man, which challenge artists and attendees to participate, interact, and enjoy the event by acting as citizens of an experimental society. Participants will be a part of a community that will "leave no trace." Artists and all attendees are expected to be "radically self-reliant" and to perpetuate a "gifting" economy where "decommodification," "communal effort," "civic responsibility" and "radical self-expression" are expected.
The 2015 Love Burn event theme is Superheroes and Villains.
The Love Burn aims to inspire artists and activists all around the world to be more involved in their own communities and in future Burning Man style events. The Love Burn is bringing together like-minded people and providing education and experience to a huge group of selfless, community-serving people, new and experienced, in South Florida.
The Love Burn hosted the first camping event in South Florida with participants from around the world to share the philosophy, principles, and exceptional art of the growing Burning Man community to the art-hungry Miami area.
