Wilderness Torah's Shavuot on the Mountain
For much more information about the festival, please visit: www.wildernesstorah.org
Wilderness Torah invites you to gather with community for Shavuot on the Mountain - an overnight festival on the sacred Mt. Tamalpais. Join us for a night of study, ceremony, and celebration!
Through traditional study sessions, music-making, and experiential workshops, we will immerse ourselves in the essence of the revelation of the receiving of the Torah. The all-night gathering is punctuated by a midnight Revelation Ritual to open us to personal revelation, and culminates with a sunrise shacharit (prayer) and Torah service on the mountain. To celebrate the bikkurim (first fruits of the harvest), we enjoy eco-kosher, local, seasonal, organic food prepared fresh in camp.
All teachings and workshops come from the participant community! If you'd like to make an offering, you can find out more on our website (www.wildernesstorah.org)
Formal programming ends after breakfast on Wednesday, however, you can stay and relax on Wednesday, join us for a day hike, or even spend another night at camp to completely observe the chag (holiday).
If you would like to stay at Mt. Tam throughout the holiday (until Thursday evening), you are welcome to do so. When you register, you can purchase an additional ticket to stay through sundown on Thursday, which will include a simple lunch and dinner on Wednesday and breakfast, lunch and dinner on Thursday, as well as campsite fees.
Wilderness Torah creates pluralistic, multi-generational community celebrations to reconnect us to the earth-based traditions of Judaism. All are welcome. Whether you are a practicing Jew or new to Judaism, please join us to learn about and go deep into the holiday of Shavuot!
