Event
Julius Caesar
The death of Julius Caesar has been played over and over again since the event itself took place, but it has never been seen quite like this. Produced in the round, the audience is thrown into the play's most intimate moments, at once both being in the room with the characters and in the theatre with the actors. Director Angelina LaBarre, and Darkroom Productions invite you to become a fly on the wall in the boardroom of Rome, Incorporated.
Traditional male roles of Caesar and Cassius will both be women in this production. By setting this production in a modern day corporation and boardroom, it allows for the exploration of women in power and the trials and tribulations they deal with in the work place, fighting for recognition amongst the other male board members, and at home, as seen through Caesar and her relationship between her wife, Calphurnia. This underlying theme of women fighting for power becomes a second story of motivation to remove Caesar from that chair at the head of the table.
This is Julius Caesar, like you've never seen before.
