Playing Biggie Smalls to LDM LAâs TuPac, NYC goes head-to-head with the same-night left coast LDM, hosting its own with a posse of judges that includes critically-acclaimed novelist John Wray (The Right Hand of Sleep, Canaanâs Tongue and Lowboy), Dave Martin, comedian (Upright Citizens Brigade and author of Officespeak) -- plus a surprise guest who promises to throw down.
Prepare for a hot battle on the mic when author/storyteller Kimberlee Auerbach (The Devil, The Lovers and Me), and Robert C. Smith, the man behind the Brother, My Lover reading series, take on Emma Straub (Fly-Over State), and Avery co-editor and Hos, Hookers, Call Girls and Rent Boys contributor Melissa Petro.
