1st Annual Iron Chef Redding, Slow Food Shasta Cascade Announces North Valley Co-op Fundraiser & Membership Kick-off
1st Annual Iron Chef Redding Fundraiser
Slow Food Shasta Cascade is hosting this event on May 15th, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m., at the North Valley Co-op, 1701 Placer, at Cascade Square behind the Dermstore. Ticket price includes a full dinner, wine and Iron Chef entertainment!
Local celebrity chefs Cal DeMercurio, Rivers Restaurant; Che Stedman, Moonstone Bistro; and Wes Matthews, Market Street Steakhouse will compete for the title of Iron Chef Redding 2010!
The chefs will receive a mystery basket of foods donated by local producers and will have 90 minutes to prepare an exquisite meal. A celebrity panel of judges and guests will enjoy a gourmet meal prepared by the chefs. Please join us for an exciting evening of great food and entertainment.
Donations for the Co-op will also be gladly accepted at the event. All proceeds from this event will benefit the North Valley Co-op.
The Co-op will also be open to the public on the evening of May 15th from 5:30 to 8:30 pm to preview our space and sign up for membership. We will feature a taste of what is to come when we open our doors this summer. Local farmers will be on hand to share the art of their handiwork--wine, beer, olive oil, cheese, fresh produce and more. As the Co-op will advocate for our local food system, we will have representatives from community organizations available to talk about local agricultural and food issues.
Memberships to the Co-op are $50 (a one time fee that buys a lifetime membership for a family) and tasting tickets will be $5/four and $2/one. Tax deductible donations to the Co-op will also gladly be accepted. The first 5 largest donors will recieve a surprise thank you gift!
All proceeds benefit the North Valley Co-op. Cash & checks only accepted at the event.
Slow Food Shasta Cascade, in partnership with the Healthy Lunch & Lifestyle Project, Healthy Shasta, and a number of individuals, is currently working to promote the North Valley Co-op as an exciting new opportunity to further the farm to fork mission of Slow Food and the consumer/producer relationship within the North State farming community.
