High Residue Farming workshop - UNION GAP
High Residue Farming under Irrigation; The Basics workshop
"High residue farming" is an umbrella term referring to cropping systems where the volume of the soil that is tilled is reduced in order to maintain residue cover of the soil. Crop residue covering the soil provides the many benefits of high residue farming:
Save time and money
Save on fuel and equipment costs
Decreased water use and pumping costs
More double cropping options
Build soil health
Direct seeding (also called no-till) strip-till, and vertical tillage are all variations of high residue farming. These workshops will cover the benefits and challenges of high residue farming, residue management, direct seeding, strip-tillage and the components of a high residue farming system. We hope you will join us.
Lunch will not be provided at this location, but there are plenty of eating establishments nearby.
