Seattle Mountain Rescue - Trail Running Friendraiser
Join us for the first ever Seattle Mountain Rescue - Trail Running Friendraiser!
For over 60 years, Seattle Mountain Rescue (SMR) has been coming to the aid of injured and stranded climbers, and yes, runners. They respond to over 100 missions a year, primarily in King County, and 2/3 of those people are hikers and runners.
SMR is comprised of cool people who followed their passion for mountaineering. They have day jobs, families and hobbies, but they also volunteer their skills, gear, and time and risk their own lives to do search and rescue - because no one else can.
So come meet SMR! Watch a slideshow of rescues, hear SMR talk about what they do, and listen to recently rescued trail runners tell their tales. Talk with the team and check out their gear. Take a spin on the rescue litter. Sign up to be on their mailing list. If you've got mountaineering experience, think about joining their team.
SMR needs $40,000 a year for medical supplies, equipment replacement, truck maintenance, and training. There will be a silent auction, SMR merchandise for sale, and plenty of other opportunities to help them cover their costs.
Most importantly, show up and meet the members of SMR!
Tickets are $15 until January 20 and $20 at the door. Free with your ticket are appetizers and a beverage.
There are a limited number of tickets available, so buy now!
