WORDS FOR MUSIC: The Ladies of Tin Pan Alley
The third offering in our "Words for Music" series, this Vaudeville-style cabaret features the best songs written and composed by women from the late 1800s to the present. With repertoires covering Broadway, movies and well-loved standards, these women have infused the American Musical Catalogue with a wealth of material, largely without receiving the credit or notoriety of their well-known male collaborators. Before coming, you may recognize their tunes. After experiencing it, you'll know their names.
