Kris Mason Comedy - Live at Vito's
This is an old school, brick wall, tight room, in your face, stand-up comedy show. Open, Feature, Headliner. All headliners are local comics as well as national touring acts.
People always say, "I've never heard of any of the comics." That's why we put on a local showcase; and that's why you should go. These are all local guys and girls at various levels of experience. By the time you know and remember a comics name, I can't afford them.
What I am trying to do is bring you the best show for your money. If you leave my show saying that everyone was horrible, you won't come back. I have to put up as many different shapes and sizes of the comedy spectrum as I can. Most local shows make three major mistakes. First, they only put their friends up (this gets old, quickly). Second, they always headline their own shows (this is all ego and takes stage time away from some very talented people, and gets old, quickly). Third, they don't pay their comics (yes, you can do show with 12 comics, each doing 8 minutes, and never pay any of them; you will see a major difference between 12 guys who will show up, desperate for stage time, and 3 or 4 professionals who won't work for free - unless it's a fundraiser).
Your first show should have you leaving amazed that you got all that for a $10 ticket. Your second show should include you bringing your friends for their first show and the surprise that the show was just as good, if not better than the last time. By your third show, you should wonder why you used to go to the movies and spend $20 more for popcorn, candy and soda instead of enjoying live entertainment with pizza and a beer or a glass of wine.
