The Joy of Cheese Presents Cheddar Smackdown!
Why wait till World Cup? Let's have the United States and England duke it out in another format: cheddar. Yes, the Brits invented the stuff, but Americans (and Canadians and Aussies) hold their own in cheddar production too. Whose is best? On Tuesday March 16, at The Clerkenwell, 49 Clinton St., we'll hold a forum to render an authoritative judgment on this vital issue. We'll sample and discuss eight cheddars, four from each side of the Atlantic Ocean (plus one mystery cheese) and put the matter to a vote. Tickets are $25 and fine beverages from each cheddarmaking superpower will be available on a pay as you go basis.
