Legend of Aahhh's
In 1988 Greg Stump, fueled by the innovative skiing of Glen Plake, Scot Schmidt and Mike Hattrup, made a movie called "Blizzard of Aahhh's." It was the first time that ski movie audiences had experienced the sport of extreme skiing, and the images portrayed not only influenced a generation of young skiers, but ultimately changed the sport of skiing forever. As a result, "Blizzard of Aahhh's" is now widely regarded as the greatest ski film of all time.
Now, 25 years later, Greg Stump is back and better than ever. His new film, "Legend of Aahhh's," traces the history of ski film making from 1920 to the present. One-of-a-kind interviews with Warren Miller, John Jay, Klaus Obermeyer and more, backed by the energetic skiing of Glen Plake, Scot Schmidt, Mike Hattrup, as well as some of today's most talented athletes, makes for an unforgettable movie going experience. And best of all, Greg Stump is flying to Seattle to present his movie IN PERSON! (You might want to brush up on your ski trivia - Stumpy puts on a pretty good show, and K2, Steven's Pass, Crystal Mountain, Evo, University VW/Audi, and Pro-ski Seattle have all donated prizes.)
And even better, details for the after party have now been set! We'll be heading to the Spectator in Lower Queen Anne after the movie (next to the theater) for an authentic SKI TOWN THROW DOWN! If you've never lived in a ski town, this will be your chance to experience the lifestyle first-hand. Your favorite ski movies will be streaming throughout the bar on 20+ tv's. Bring your best 80's hotdoggin' ski gear because we're saving some of the best prizes for after the film. Batch 206 will be providing the ski town drink specials (including multiple shot skis) and random contests will take place throughout the night (hot dog eating, limbo, best outfits, ski boot dance off, best camel toe in a one-piece, etc). Keep in mind, ENTRY IS ONLY FREE WITH TICKET STUB. Come buy Stumpy a beer while watching your favorite ski movies in your most obnoxious 80's ski attire! This will be a night to remember, Seattle.
According to Stuart Rempel of Whistler Blackcomb, "Legend of Aahhh's is an incredible testament to Greg Stump's talent and leadership in the ski movie world. It's a must see if you have ever watched a ski film."
