HEADACHE | The Yawns, Little Anchors & Marionettes
Louder Than Bombs takes a temporary hiatus until C35 is fully refurbed, but us at Headache have managed to wrangle one of the best venues in Scotland for a rare evening of indie rock.
The Yawns www.theyawns.bandcamp.com Released one of my favourite albums of the last decade, critically lauded, insanely good live. Felt like all of Aberdeen came out to see them last time we had them up. Expect summery, gorgeous indie-pop with tonnes of hooks and a pretty amazing frontman. Almost impossble to overstate how good this band are. I wonder if they'll end up crowdsurfing again?
Former/current members of: PVH, Copy Haho, Battery Face, Spinning Coin and probably five thousand other awesome bands.
Little Anchors www.littleanchors.bandcamp.com Well respected recording engineer/man of many bands Ross is returning to Aberdeen, after playing an awesome set with Terrafraid last year. Expect heartfelt lyricism and plenty of beautiful riffs. Sweet emo/indie from Dundee.
Marionettes www.marionettes.bandcamp.com "ABERDEEN'S BEST BAND" Craig "A band I play in" Paddy (probably).
With a new release on the horizon, I'm fully expecting these 5 badmen to have a ball playing the Lampie. Lovely humans and talented songwriters. Strokes-y guitar work, interlocking guitar lines and a distinctive vocalist drive the bands insanely catchy tunes.
