The Jazz Locavores
All Of The Above presents: The Jazz Locavores featuring Iain Ballamy (saxophones), Henrik Jensen (double bass) and Dave Smith (drums)
Whats a Locavore? The dictionary says its a person whose diet consists of locally grown and produced food. Conceived by Iain Ballamy during the 2020 lockdown as a pro-active positive antidote to the stifling effect of Covid-19 and travel restrictions on musicians, The Jazz Locavores trio was formed with Henrik Jensen and Dave Smith - fellow internationally renowned musicians and local Frome residents - to capitalise on staying at home but making great music with brilliant friends. The Jazz Locavores think global and act local. Why go further afield when the locally grown diet has 3 Michelin stars?
Iain Ballamy is one of Europes most celebrated saxophonists and composers with a unique sound and remarkably wide ranging appeal. Henrik Jensen moved from Denmark to the UK to continue his career as one of Europes most sought-after bass players. Drummer Dave Smith has worked across the world with (amongst others) Robert Plant and Chrissie Hynde and as co-leader of Cloudmakers Trio, The Loop Collective and the African-inspired Fofoulah.
Widcombe Social Club is a sanitized, Covid-secure venue with socially distanced seating and table service from the bar.,
