Toya Alexander: Phyllis and Me
LIVE and in CONCERT, Saturday July 15, extraordinary Bay Area vocalist Toya Alexander performing the soulful songs of the late jazz singer, Phyllis Hyman, along with a selection of her own originals.
Supporting Miss Alexander will be the dynamic Lloyd Gregory Ensemble, a stellar group of professional Bay Area musicians featuring: guitarist Lloyd Gregory, pianist Glen Pearson, bassist Ron Belcher, percussionist Leon Joyce Jr. and featuring international recording artist Richard Howell on saxophone, with background vocalists Anna Lissa Jack, Tamara Joiner, and Marlayna Washington.
Poet and Storyteller Zakiyyah Capehart Bolling will be reading her acclaimed poem "Phyllis"as part of the evening's entertainment.
The evening will be hosted by the inimitable Mr. James Brooks.

Come join us for an evening of great music, and enjoy mixing and mingling (and noshing) during the Intermission Buffet and Wine Bar (included with admission).

The artwork of Bay Area artist Karen Malpas will be on display in the gallery.
