About Robin Jackson

Award winning composer, multi-instrumentalist and performer Robin Jackson draws upon the moody spirit of his rain-soaked, Portland, OR home to create an eclectic brew of dreamy folk-pop in his debut solo record "Dust Diaries."

Resonant vocals breath life into vintage, cinematic songs blending elements of Americana, gypsy-tinged jazz, nostalgic cabaret and acoustic musings.

He's marched through New Orleans with psychedelic Brass bands, been a professional world wide street performer, played saxophone at the Parthenon and collaborated and played with a multitude of well known artists from Gogol Bordello to The String Cheese Incident. Robin is a founding member of the Gypsy cabaret band Vagabond Opera and also played with the March Fourth Marching Band.

Robin began playing music at age 5 on Suzuki violin and studied Jazz in New Zealand where he lived for 12 years and played with internationally known Fat Freddies Drop and Phoenix Foundation. He also plays saxophone, clarinet, guitar, violin, didgerdoo, Mbira from Zimbabwe and whistles.
