Barn Party/Record Release with Caroline Doctorow
RIPE Art Gallery is pleased to announce a very special concert by Caroline Doctorow, scheduled for Sunday, November 23, 2014. This "Barn Party with Caroline Doctorow" will feature new songs by Caroline, backed by The Steamrollers, and serve as a Record Release of her new CD "Raven Girl- A Retrospective". Starting at 3pm, Caroline will thrill you with music that the music publication No Depression.Com, likens to that of " Emmylou Harris, Nanci Griffith, Judy Collins and Lucinda Williams". Her albums appear regularly on the top of the folk music radio airplay charts. Ms. Doctorow has appeared at The Guthrie Center and New Bedford Summerfest to standing room crowds and rave reviews. She can be heard on the PBS special "Freedom-The History of Us" narrated by Katie Couric. Nanci Griffith and John Sebastian appear on her release of "Another Country" a retrospective of the songs of Richard and Mimi FariƱa, produced by Pete Kennedy. Ms. Doctorow tours the east coast with her band "The Steamrollers" and co-hosts the folk radio show The Songtrails Radio Hour. Ms. Doctorow is a regular returning guest on the famed Blue Plate Special , the live radio broadcast produced and aired on WDVX. Knoxville. Her singing can be heard on the soundtrack of the feature film Daniel directed by Sidney Lumet, and on the PBS TV series "Freedom, The History of Us. Her song "Big Duck Ramble" was featured in the Long Island History Journal, and in 2006 she was nominated by WIVK Knoxville for a HEMI Award in the "Future Female Artist" category.
