Music City USA (Feature Documentary) Directed by: Chris McDaniel
Nashville, a city currently based on music, wasn't always called Music City. Find out how this printing and Insurance mecca became the music capital of the world, and see how the devastating flood of 2010 tried to get them down.
The film takes us on a ride through Nashville, showing us everything from how songs are written by the numerous writing sessions occurring nightly, to the finishing touches put on in famous recording studios like The Tracking Room. We learn the opinions of NUMEROUS legendary artists as the filmmaker interviews people like Charlie Daniels, Vince Gill, Ricky Skaggs, Lorrie Morgan, Pam Tillis, The Wailers, S. Hank Williams III, The Oak Ridge Boys, and The Kentucky Headhunters, along with several of today's hot new acts, like Montgomery Gentry and Josh Thompson. Peppered throughout the film are Nashville residents that really blow your mind with insights you can't get unless you live there. Mayor Karl Dean is interviewed for his knowledge on the City, and History Channel Star, American Picker Mike Wolfe who now lives in Nashville, gives a convincing rave review for his new home, as though he has been a Nashville resident his entire life.
This film is loaded with humor, music, history, and most of all, a story of determination and will, a backbone, a resilience, forged in the heartland, but made stronger through music, the real story of Music City USA.
