Ableton 101
Description: Make the music you've always wanted to with Ableton Live, a powerful tool for music production used by professional producers worldwide. In this 17 hour introductory course, you will learn how to use Live's devices, loops, effects and instruments to create your own music. This course will walk you through the entire process of creating a song from start to finish with hands on examples and exercises. You will leave with an understanding of how to utilize both the session and arrangement view to create music, arrange a song and apply basic mixing techniques.

Part 2: Bass Lines and Chords (3 Hours) Lives Instruments MIDI Effects and Controllers Writing Techniques Packs and Help Files Activity: Write a bass line and chord progression!
Day 2: Working with Audio, Loops and Samples (2.5 Hours)
Activity: Manipulate loops and samples Working with Loops, Samples & Warping Convert Harmony, Melody and Drums to MIDI Creative Sampling with Slice to New MIDI
Day 3: Moving into the Arrangement
Part 1: Arrangement View and refining your song (2 Hours) Activity: Perform your song into the arrangement. MIDI Controllers Clip and scene launching Session View Automation & Clip Envelopes
Part 2: Arrangement View Editing Functions (2 Hours) Activity: Refine the song in the arrangement view Arrangement functions Audio, MIDI and Clip Editing Automation Audio Effect and Instrument Racks
Part 3: Mixing (2 Hours) Activity: Polish your Mix and Make it Loud! The Essential Elements of Mixing Insert FX vs Send and Return FX
