Tim Gearan & The Tuesday Loop with special guest Joshua Black Wilkins
Named "Residency King of the Hub" and said to be "just too talented to remain a local hero," by The Boston Globe; Tim Gearan, the Boston based singer-songwriter was awarded Boston Music Award's Best Ongoing Residency in 2012, (Atwood's Tavern on Friday nights) as well as the first Gibson Guitar sponsored Unsung Hero Award at the BMA's in 2004.
Known for his guttural voice, powerful song writing and masterful guitar playing, Tim Gearan was raised in New York, yet is lovingly claimed by the legendary Boston music community, where he has been playing music for over 20 years.
After 10 years of touring nationally and abroad as a sideman guitarist for Toni Lynn Washington, Gearan settled down in Somerville, Massachusetts and presently performs his own music with a remarkable band of Boston MVPs almost exclusively, occasionally stripping down his songs for his Tuesday Loop residency at Atwood's Tavern on select Tuesdays.
East Nashville's Joshua Black Wilkins' beat-up, broken-down, throaty voice is a perfect vehicle for his haunting songs about the American spirit. .
Wilkins moonlights as a photographer or does he moonlight as a musician? and going through his work is like a walk through Nashville icons like Marty Stuart and the late Charlie Louvin; mainstays like Bobby Bare; newer arrivals like Dan Auerbach; comers and goers like Patterson Hood.
His music is clearly a reflection of the world that his photographs inhabit.
ATWOOD'S TAVERN IS A MIX OF SEATING AND STANDING ROOM. PURCHASING A TICKET DOES NOT GUARANTEE SEATING.
THIS IS A 21+ SHOW.
