BIO: Jessica Fogle has been writing songs since she was 3 years old, starting out with the poppy casio hits "A Nickle and a Shank" (she doesn't know what that means) and "Let's Dance!". She later won statewide songwriting competitions in elementary school by writing moving ballads about world peace and children governing. Now she writes thinky and/or feely songs as a solo singer-songwriter, blending folk-rock-pop with sometimes-classical-sometimes-jazz-influenced piano and experimental/confessional lyrics...sort of like if Norah Jones and Joanna Newsom had a baby that ate Kurt Vonnegut and washed him down with some Fiona Apple or late Beatles, and then, bloated, went swimming in a mellow moody film score. She also has an MFA in musical theatre writing, which infiltrates her style at times, and an obsession with Chopin and Beethoven, which was beaten into her fingers from an early age and at the conservatory where she was often expected to "TRANSPOSE!" To date, she has written over 14 albums, however you've never heard of most of them because they are kept hidden in her personal vault. "Du Bist Einen Fogle!", her 2nd full album and first studio release, was released in May 2010 - produced by Ethan Stoller. (*her first rougher live album from 2007, "Melancholy Frog", was remastered in Nov 2011 and is also available online and at shows). Her newest album, "Catalysts", is being released under her imaginary band name "Jessica in The Rainbow" - and is comprised of her favorite songs from albums 3-12 (release date: September 18th 2014). Come to a live show near you to hear many of the new songs - which feature cello, banjo-ukelele, and floaty vocal harmonies, in addition to the usual lo-fi piano/vocal mellow-alto sound.
