Event

Daniel Martin Moore
On Saturday September 13, 2014 at 8 p.m., notable singer and songwriter Daniel Martin Moore returns from his international tour for a one-night only concert presented at the intimate Monastery Studio in Walnut Hills.  This concert will feature Moore's long-time band of "musician's musicians": Dan Dorff, Aaron Jacobs, and Dave Givan. Ticket price includes an after concert reception with food from Cincinnati's renowned Take The Cake chef Melissa Mileto Rosenthal.

Kentucky based musician Daniel Martin Moore is a striking singer and songwriter who made his debut on the strength of an unsolicited demo he sent to Sub Pop records in 2007.  Sub Pop quickly released "Stray Age" (his first full-length album) in 2008 and "Dear Companion" (produced by Jim James of My Morning Jacket) in 2010.

Moore has opened for Iron & Wine, The Swell Season, and My Morning Jacket (among others), has toured with Jim James and Ben Sollee, and had founded is own record label, OK Recordings.  Moore's newest record, "Archives Vol. 1," is a collection of rare and previously unreleased recordings and collaborations featuring Jim James, Haley Bonar, John Shelley, and others.  The record was released last October prior his most recent international tour.

This event is presented in partnership with The Requiem Project at The Monastery.  The Monastery is a performance space and recording studio in Walnut Hills. Housed in a repurposed church, it has been home to over a century of music and continues to welcome all types of music, from classical to folk, pop, jazz, hip hop, and indie rock. The Requiem Project is a 501(c)-3 not-for-profit arts company with the mission to inspire artistic collaborations and to offer arts-based educational opportunities through dance, music, theatre, visual, and interdisciplinary artistic expressions.

This event is presented by The Requiem Project as part of ART MOVES HERE 2014.
