JOAN OSBORNE LIVE AT THE BUDARZ THEATER
Join us on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 21 at the Budarz theater in the Ossining Public Library for the Words & Music concert series fall benefit concert featuring multi-platinum selling recording artist Joan Osborne.
The concert will feature co-producer Jack Petruzzelli (Fab Faux, Patti Smith) accompanying Joan on piano, guitar and vocals.
SPECIAL GUEST Oli Rockberger will open with a solo acoustic set.
All General Admission ticketholders are guaranteed a seat in the 200 seat theater and are invited to attend a meet & greet with the artists in the art gallery immediately following the concert. The net proceeds from this concert will be used to produce more free Sunday afternoon concerts in the Words & Music concert series.
"This one feels a little different," Joan Osborne says of her 2014 release Love and Hate. In addition to being the beloved singer-songwriter and seven-time Grammy nominee's eighth studio album, the 12-song set is one of the most personally-charged, creatively ambitious efforts of her two-decades-plus recording career.
While Osborne has already earned a reputation as both a commanding, passionate performer and a frank, emotionally evocative songwriter, her soulful song craft reaches a new level of musical and lyrical resonance on Love and Hate. The album is filled with insightful, emotionally complex compositions whose intimate, stripped-down sound marks a stylistic departure from the gritty blues-based rock for which Osborne is best known.

Whether you first discover singer/songwriter & pianist Oli Rockberger through his work as a solo artist, producer/arranger, studio keys sideman, or as 1/3 of acclaimed band/production team Mister Barrington, you will be sure to find a distinctive musical voice running through the rich and varied work he does. Oli is well known to regular Words & Music concertgoers, having appeared alongside James Maddock in both 2012 & 2013.
In 2013 Rockberger released his sophomore solo album "Old Habits", which was described by London Jazz as a "monument to be relished in the border territory of jazz and pop" and named Jazz FM's album of the week (Feb '13).
