THE DINOSAUR TRUCKERS || ANDY VAUGHAN & THE DRIVELINE
THE DINOSAUR TRUCKERS (From Germany) ************************************ http://dinosaurtruckers.de/
Ever since they started out in 2006, the Dinosaur Truckers have toured excessively all over Europe and gained the reputation of a definite can't miss live band, forcing steaming atmo and dripping sweat at any given show.
Whether they play at blazing speed or temporarily slow it down for a somber ballad, they're not the ones to sing about sweet country sunshine but offer up the pure, uncut, unadulterated form potent and dangerous and not for the faint of heart.
Although rooted deep in American music, the Dinosaur Truckers certainly aren't just yet another folk act. This four piece band merges a wide range of styles: From fast-paced bluegrass to country, punk, rockabilly and at times even mariachi impact, they display tremendous breadth of sound and influence and deliver with giant energy.
Now, after hundreds of shows and two full length albums,'Songs For Homefolks'(2008) & 'Down This Road' (2009), the band has been receiving universal praise from the music press and their new, self titled, album was released in April 2013, again, to critical acclaim.

RICHMOND, Va., July 7, 2014 With the release of their third album, Sinners and Saints, on July 5, Andy Vaughan & the Driveline are ready to hit the highway. The act readers of Style Weekly deemed "Best Richmond Country Band" will kick off their tour July 11 in Fredericksburg, Va.
"Sinners and Saints" IS THE follow-up to 2012's "Searching for the Song". No Depression reviewer Ben Bonin called that disc "music written for lonely dives and late night truck drives."
The designation surely reflects Andy Vaughan & the Driveline's association with the late '50s/early '60s Bakersfield Sound of Buck Owens and Merle Haggard (Vaughan calls Haggard his idol). This time out, though, singer-guitarist Vaughan, steel player Slim Stanton, lead guitarist Ray Fralin, bassist Erik Kutzler and drummer Chip Farnsworth also recall 1970s Nashville, including the work of Conway Twitty, Bobby Bare, Jerry Lee Lewis and Waylon Jennings.
The group's country-rock leanings are also more evident on Sinners and Saints. Vaughan says of the loping title track: "There are good people out there who occasionally do bad things and I'm one of them."
The theme of the hero given to sin (and the sometimes saintly villain) permeates the album. Vaughan recognizes that most of us fall into a grey area; as he sings on "Sinners and Saints": "We've all done things that we're proud of/ And things that we'd rather forget/ Truth is we all live somewhere in between/ What we've done right and what we regret."
