Sky Kissers: Learn to walk & dance on stilts!
Stilt walking is a fun and interactive activity that improves co-ordination, balance, confidence, self-esteem, strength, and builds trust. Students will learn how to walk, dance, fall safely, and get back up on stilts. In August 30th's workshop students will also be introduced to floor-work, partner moves, and choreo. Fun times to be had right side up and upside down. No experience necessary. All levels welcome.
Additional Details... *2 foot wood peg stilts are provided for class use. If you already have stilts please bring them (up to 3 feet). *Class size is 3 student minimum, 10 student maximum. *Ages 12+
Students please... *Arrive 30 minutes before class to sign liability waivers & be fitted for stilts. *Under 18 must be accompanied by legal guardian. *Wear tie on shoes (preferably sneakers) for the workshop. *Wear pants. They protect better than skirts or shorts. *Class will be held indoors. Students will be given the opportunity to experience different terrains on stilts outside, weather permitting. *Bring hard knee pads to wear during workshop. *Bring a water bottle. Stay hydrated.
About Instructor... A trained dancer & burlesque showgirl, turned danger artist & acrobatic stilt dancer, Crystal Cruz brings her decade long love affair with performance art and cirque to the classroom. Run away to the circus this summer for her exciting House of Cirque workshops.
