Lotus Temple Rising
Lotus Temple Rising May 15, 2014 7pm -12am at Shine Gathering Place in Boulder, Colorado
Featuring musical performances by Ilya Goldberg, Lux Moderna, Eukarya and Erothyme
Ilya Goldberg began training in classical violin at an early age in his birthplace of Perm, Russia. Since moving to the States in 2000 to pursue music full-time, his skill and dedication has guided him on the nomad's path from the Cleveland Institute of Music to international tours out of his home base in Portland, Oregon. In the classical realm, Ilya has performed with several Russian and American orchestras, chamber groups, and as a soloist. With over a decade of experience as a chameleonic studio musician on violin, viola, and mandolin he is lauded for his ability to fluidly adapt his improvisational mastery to any genre. Ilya also fills a unique niche by infusing electronic music with classical technique and a sensibility spanning epochs of music. His collaborators include Devochka, Random Rab, Lynx, Rena Jones, The Human Experience, Jamie Janover, Future Simple Project, and Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
Lux Moderna is a sonically-oriented alchemical priestess in service to ritual, performance and community. She is an artist that embodies and expresses her divine gifts in order to elevate others into their own embodiment of Truth. As a star rising on the West Coast, Lux has inspired and uplifted festival-goers through her voice and her music at festivals such as Lightning in a Bottle, Symbiosis Gathering: Pyramid Eclipse, Sonic Bloom, Burning Man and beyond. Lux consciously and artistically transmutes sound, light and consciousness into experiences of activation and resonance. Lux focuses her energy into electronic music production, singing, chanting, yoga, education and healing on all scales of existence. She specializes in bass music, mantra, ceremony design and facilitation, neuroscience, mythology, and alchemical art. Lux Moderna is dedicated to a conscious, heart-centered experiential approach to facilitating mass entrainment with the creative essence of the universe.
Eukarya is the guise of Colorado based artist Dan Irving. The primary aesthetics of the Eukarya sound are a distinct focus on immersive soundscapes, strong harmonic development, textured rhythms, and deep rolling bass lines all executed with honed craftsmanship. Highly inspired by the miracle of life, micro biology, mycelial networks, etc- Eukarya seeks to create music that encompasses the entire range of thought and emotion. Every performance is designed individually, and with the intention to create a space where we can recognize and celebrate the mystery of our existence. Experimental sound design and cutting edge production trickery mixes with a ceremonial approach to performance that creates a special dance floor experience that offers opportunity for transformation and self reflection. Performances often incorporate a live vocalist, and/or choreographed theatrical performances depending on each event's desires and needs. Dan has been releasing music with the Mycelium Music label, helping to raise funds for eco-restoration projects using oil consuming fungus in Ecuador and is a resident performer for the Djedi Templar.
Erothyme emerged ceremoniously from the aether as an effort by the principle creative forces in the cosmos to grant a sufficiently resplendent musical voice to the current state of the rapturous grace of the elusive all-present Muse. It takes a special kind of soulful jam to bring tears to robot eyes or to resonate with the nuances of extra-terrestrial hearts. Knowing this, in an effort to transcend the digital decadence detection disparities between listeners with differing fundamental metaphysical axioms or celestial origins, respectively, Bobby Blessed calls upon allies from several worlds to assist him in his recording artisan quest and liberally douses his collections of sonorous synthesizer symphonies in multiplicitous melting layers of homebrewed extra-sultry sentimental sweetsauce. Particularly rigorous attention is directed to the mind-matter connection through the use of a highly sophisticated manual melodic manipulation interface known as a keyboard. This technology seamlessly synchronizes electronic and kinesthetic information, ensuring that the resulting stereophonic journey is not only heady enough to elevate the vibes, but also hearty enough to keep you warm all through the long dark night.
