Smithies Singing Revolutions: Smith College Montage 2017
Saturday, October 14th marks this year's annual Montage Family Weekend concert, hosted by the Smith College Department of Music. The Smith College Choirs, Orchestra, Wind and Jazz Ensembles, Handbell Choir, and student music groups will be performing songs by Led Zeppelin, Chicago, John Denver, Curtis Mayfield, Toto, and more.
This year's afternoon concert is entitled "Smithies Singing Revolutions." Each of the pieces performed will be related to a place. The concert will feature a wide array of genres, including R&B, rock, pop, country, and jazz.
Amanda Huntleigh conducts the Smith College Choirs and Orchestra; Grant Moss directs the Handbell Choir. The Jazz Ensemble is led by Genevieve Rose, while the Wind Ensemble and Wailing Banshees are under the direction of Ellen Redman. All other groups are directed by Smith College students.
Montage 2017, "Smithies Singing Revolutions," will take place in John M. Greene Hall, located at 70 Elm Street on Smith College Campus. The show will begin at 4:00 PM on Saturday, October 14th.
Online advance tickets, available at montage2017.brownpapertickets.com, are $8 for general admission and $3 for Smith College students.
Tickets will be sold for $10 general admission and $5 for Smith students in the Smith College Campus Center on Friday, October 13th from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday, October 14th from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
