Harvest Moon Festival: Sculpt and Metal Pour
On October 7th during Owen Valley Winery's 7th annual Harvest Moon Festival Sculpture Trails Outdoor Museum will bring to you a live art show where you are the star! Bring your creative side and carve out your masterpiece in sandstone! Once you're finished the Sculpture Trails team will take over and make sure your art is cast in molten hot metal! Come back an hour later after you walk the festival and take it home with you!
$35 will give you the chance to carve out a sandstone block to be made permanent with molten hot aluminum. You get to keep the metal carving.
The Sculpture Trails team needs you to arrive as early as possible in order to get your piece carved, poured, and ready to take home! It's suggested to arrive at the latest of 4 p.m. to guarantee your sculpture gets created! The Sculpture Trails team can only pour so many pieces per hour and it also takes one hour for your metal to cool properly before you can take it home. The earlier to arrive to the festival the better!
The Harvest Moon Festival, now in it's seventh year in beautiful Owen County, Spencer Indiana, is a fantastic celebration of Indiana based vendors and artisans. The goal of our festival is to raise awareness of locally crafted products, provide rural vendors and artists an opportunity to showcase their wares and attract visitation to Spencer located in southern Indiana.
The festival originally began with the release of our award winning Harvest Moon Wine. Harvest Moon wine is made with the Indiana state grape Traminette that we grow in our vineyard. We were so proud of our wine we decided to invite others to join us in the celebration of locally produced products.
The Harvest Moon Festival begins on October 7th at 12 p.m. and runs until dusk.
