Merchandise and Marketing: Mastering Your Side Hustle
Join Shimmy LaRoux and Cruel Valentine for a fun and informative lesson on merchandising for performers and other creatives, followed by a Q&A and group discussion. Whether you're new to the merch game, or looking to expand, this class will provide you everything you need to know about merchandising and marketing techniques to complement your performance career! We'll cover everything you'll need to find your footing with merch, be it printed goodies, handmade items, or a combination of the two! Topics we'll cover include aligning your merch with your brand, techniques for vending at shows and events, payment processors, sales tax information, selling online, shipping advice, tracking expenses and profits, growing your merch line, and more!
This event will be available on a paid stream, so remote students are more than welcome! Streaming information will be sent out to remote students prior to class date. This workshop will also be archived and sent out to all registered students (local and remote) no more than 24 hours after class. You may also register to receive the archive of the class only, if you are unavailable on the class date.
What to bring: Please bring a pen and paper, or a device to take notes on. You're also welcome to bring merch samples, designs, logo ideas, or anything else you'd like some feedback on. If you wish to have us take a look at anything online, please bring your own laptop or other device. There will be Wifi!
Coffee and pastries will be served at this event. Feel free to bring your own drinks and snacks as well.

The cost to attend is $30, and payment plans are available to students in need, so please get in touch with us!
