CULTIVATE - LUNCH, TWO SHOWS AND A SUPPER
Everwood Farmstead Foundation invites you to join us at the farmstead on September 30, 2017 to enjoy an afternoon of music, food, friends and autumn beauty to help further and grow the work of the Foundation.
Join us at the Farm as early as Noon before we gather in the barn at 1:00 pm for lunch - an intimate gathering at long tables as acclaimed chef JIM CHRISTIANSEN of Heyday Restaurant in Minneapolis prepares a multi-course meal from locally sourced ingredients. Lunch will Include wine pairings along with custom cocktails prepared by JASON SUSS of A Proper Pour. Afterwards, take a walk on the trails, visit the bee hives, play a yard game or just relax on a blanket. When you build up a thirst, we'll have wine, Spotted Cow on tap and a variety of non-alcoholic beverages. At 4:30, we'll enjoy stories from KEVIN KLING followed by singer/songwriter CHASTITY BROWN. And when you get hungry again, you'll enjoy a pig roast raised and roasted by PINEY HILL FARM along with vegetarian side dishes prepared with produce from Piney Hill and Everwood.

JIM CHRISTIANSEN is noted for his hyper-seasonal, close-to-home ingredient philosophy as well as his ability to create gorgeous and exquisitely flavorful dishes. His time spent at world-renowned Noma informed the food at Heyday, his Minneapolis restaurant. Since it opened in 2014, Jim has been recognized as a Food & Wine Magazine Best New Chef (2015) and a James Beard nominee as Best Chef Midwest (2015, 2016 and 2017).
PINEY HILL FARM, located "next door" to Everwood, grows vegetables and livestock using organic practices with their sights set on organic certification in the near future. They are proud members of the Hungry Turtle Farmers Cooperative and also grow for several Twin Cities' restaurants.
JASON SUSS, from A Proper Pour, has worked at some of the Twin Cities' finest restaurants including La Belle Vie and St. Dinette. He never shies away from a pun and mixes incredibly creative specialty and craft cocktails.
Monologist and playwright KEVIN KLING is a frequent commentator for NPR's "All Things Considered", has authored five books published by Borealis Books and has produced six storytelling CDs. His plays have been produced at theaters across the United States. His autobiographic piece, Home and Away, premiered at the Seattle Rep and moved to Second Stage Theater, where it received a Drama Desk Award nomination.
Singer/Songwriter CHASTITY BROWN melds soul, folk and pop with power and conviction. She recently completed a tour of the UK and Ireland to promote her new album, Silhouette of Sirens. For much of 2016, she toured alongside folk icon Ani Difranco. She has been featured on NPR's "Favorite Sessions", CMT, American Songwriter, The London Times and Paste Magazine.
